Greetings from Ocean City and the Forum Family and Staff!! We are sending you our 2017 Spring Letter and hope you are all well and can begin planning a summer vacation with us. We have experienced a relatively quiet winter with the exception of a couple “nor’easters” and a beautiful snowstorm. Snow on the beach and boardwalk gives the shore a whole new look!
It is now time to look at your calendar and think about your visit to The Forum in “America’s Greatest Family Resort”. Ocean City recently received a Blue Star Certification from the Clean Ocean Action Program for the high water quality and the city’s continued efforts to maintain and improve on those standards.
The boardwalk reconstruction project will soon be completed with additional pavilions and space for all of our visitors. It is the perfect place for the many art and flower shows, parades, Thursday Family Night festivities, fireworks, shopping, morning bike rides and evening strolls. The Music Pier will again play host to many concerts for people of all ages. On tap this season for the “Baby Boomers” are the Temptations and the Beach Boys! The Pier will also be the site of the Miss New Jersey Pageant. The Forum continues to be the venue for hosting the contestants as they vie for the crown.
Our revitalized downtown on Asbury Avenue offers gift shops, a bookstore, clothing and accessory boutiques, hair and nail salons, gyms, yoga studios, art studios and many fine restaurants and cafes. Tuesdays and Thursdays feature the Street Fairs with bands, entertainment, face painting and carriage rides. A Wednesday farmer’s market along with stalls for local artisans is held on the 6th Street Tabernacle grounds. All are in walking distance from the Forum!!
Ocean City is noted for its variety of recreational facilities. There are basketball courts, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, shuffleboard courts, playgrounds and a 12-hole par 3 golf course. The teens will love the new popular skateboard park on Sixth Street. Fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking and jet skiing are found along the bay side. There is truly something for everyone! Of course, this is all in addition to the gorgeous sandy beaches and the cool sparkly ocean offering instant relaxation!
The preparations at the Forum are in progress as you read this letter. Our goals continue to be providing a warm and friendly atmosphere plus clean and comfortable accommodations throughout your stay.
